Required Skills/Experience:
Teaching hospital experience is required.
Experience in a facility similar to OSU is required.
Experience with all areas of the department is required: decontamination of all items (drills, Da Vinci, scopes); assembly of all instruments in all service lines (trauma, loaners, peel packaging included); sterilization process (Sterrad and steam); HLD/scope experience; sterile storage; OR liaison experience; Censitrac tracking system experience; Medivator experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Community hospital experience is preferred.
Required Credentials:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
Unit Details:
Adult patient population.
Role includes preparing, sterilizing, installing, assembling, and cleaning equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures; ensuring sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered aseptically to the point of use; serving as a clinical liaison between the operating rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the enterprise; and procuring and standardizing instrument trays across the enterprise.
Staffing ratios: days 1:19, nights 1:15, weekends 1:11.
High-volume trauma facility.
Shift & Scheduling:
Scheduled rotating weekends and occasional scheduled holidays.
Floating Requirements:
Floating may be required between OSU locations, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, East, and ambulatory sites (Dublin, New Albany, EEI, Jameson Crane, West Campus).
