Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience in a high capacity operating room.
Required Credentials: Contingent/temp licensure is not accepted. Primary source verification of licensure/certification is required for application.
Shift & Scheduling: Requesting 7/27 or 8/10 start. 4x10 day/evening rotation; travelers will initially rotate to evenings, and if needs align with skills, evenings may become the primary shift. Scheduled for days when not needed on evenings. Includes 2 weeks of nights per contract. Includes at least 2 short calls each 4 week schedule and weekends. Evening shifts are 1p-11p. Day shifts are 7a-5:30p M, T, Th, F and 9a-7:30p W. When scheduled on weekends, travelers will work 12 hour shifts and will be scheduled for 8 or 10 hour shifts during that same week to meet contracted hours.
Travel Surgical Tech Job Responsibilities and Salary
Surgical Techs (also referred to as “Scrub Techs”) are an integral part of the surgical team. Job responsibilities are designed to keep patients safe. As a valuable member of the surgical team, Surgical Technologists prepare items for surgery and play a major role during procedures, including assisting with equipment use, passing suture and other supplies to the surgeon, and ensuring the team maintains sterile technique to reduce the risk of postoperative infection. Surgical Technicians provide direct support to the surgeon through tasks such as inserting drainage tubes. The average annual salary for Surgical Techs in the United States is more than $55,000.
