Required Skills/Experience:
3 plus years of inpatient surgery experience.
Must have trauma experience.
Must be competent in at least 5 of the following surgical services: general, gynecology, genitourinary, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine.
Required Credentials:
Only NBSTSA certification is accepted.
Unit Details:
Surgical services include general, gynecology, genitourinary, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine.
Shift & Scheduling:
Day/night rotation with 7a or 7p start times.
Every 3rd weekend as needed.
Every other holiday.
On-call: 1x per schedule.
Floating Requirements:
May float to Moakley or other OR campuses if needed.

As a valuable member of the surgical team, Surgical Technologists prepare items for surgery and play a major role during procedures, including assisting with equipment use, passing suture and other supplies to the surgeon, and ensuring the team maintains sterile technique to reduce the risk of postoperative infection. Surgical Technicians provide direct support to the surgeon through tasks such as inserting drainage tubes. The average annual salary for Surgical Techs in the United States is more than $55,000.
