Additional Information
Driver License is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/TDAP declinations.
Required Credentials:
- Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization. Only 2 attempts allowed.
- Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization. Only 2 attempts allowed.
Special Requests:
- Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles.
- Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.
- In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver’s license.
Unit Details:
- Pediatric cardiac cath lab performing heart, IR, and EP procedures.
- Assists with cardiovascular procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat the cardiovascular system.
- Performs active physiological monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, pressures, and saturations, including intra-procedure testing such as oxygen saturation, cardiac output, shunting, and hemodynamic calculations.
- Anticipates changes during cases, including catheter position, and communicates patient condition changes to the physician and team.
- Assists with room setup, patient transport, post-procedure clean-up, and patient education on post-procedure monitoring and catheter insertion site care.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 40 hours per week with rotating on-call coverage.
