Additional Details:
Required Credentials:
- One of the following is required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
Unit Details:
- Verifies ordered exams and appropriateness using assessment data and principles of growth and development.
- Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals.
- Positions patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
- Produces and retains high-quality diagnostic images using imaging, computer, and other equipment.
- Works with physicians to evaluate images and determine whether additional images are needed.
- Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Prepares patients for procedures, provides education, and responds to questions or concerns.
- Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
