Required Skills/Experience:

• Outpatient experience required.

Unit Details:

• Outpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Patient-focused role that delegates responsibility to physical therapist assistants and aides.
• Utilizes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures.
• Evaluates patient function using formal and informal testing to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develops goal-specific treatment regimens based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submits written treatment regimens as part of the plan of treatment, updates the plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status, and co-signs verbal orders received by physical therapist assistants as necessary.
• Devises frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules coordinated with the patient, family, caregiver, and clinical support staff.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers regarding pathology or condition, alternatives, prognosis, and treatment rationale through rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions.

Shift & Scheduling:

• No weekends.
• No call.
