References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Skills/Experience:
PICU, NICU, or intensive care experience is required.
Two years of either Level 3 or 4 NICU experience is required. PICU experience may also be considered depending on the length of experience and the number of beds at previous hospitals.
Required skills include airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer use, BiPAP, and CPAP.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Trauma and emergency room experience are preferred.
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Community hospital experience is preferred.
Preferred skills include high-frequency jet ventilator, high-frequency oscillator, EKGs, Code Response, and rapid response.
Bubble RAM, CPAP, and HFNC experience are preferred.
Unit Details:
Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents.
Preferred ventilators include Draeger and Trilogy.
Special Requests:
Only 3 shifts of RTO can be approved. If you are willing to work your 3 shifts in a week, the unit may possibly DR some days, allowing the remaining week off.
RTO is not approved within the first 2 weeks of the assignment.
RTO must be included in the initial submission or it will not be approved.
Any requested holiday grouping (2 days) must be included in the initial submission for unit-manager approval.
Shift & Scheduling:
Schedule runs Monday–Sunday.
Weekend coverage is required.
No on-call shifts are required; additional call shifts are available for pickup.
Must work 2 of 3 holiday groupings (4/6 of the days listed): Thanksgiving Eve and/or the day after (depending on the shift, 3p vs 7p); Christmas Eve and Christmas; or NYE and NYD.
Floating Requirements:
Floating to all inpatient/acute care areas is required as needed, in addition to working in all ICUs; this is not an ICU-only role.
