Required Skills/Experience:
NICU and PICU experience is required.
Must have Level 4 NICU experience.
Must be competent in the use of both the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Cardiac PICU experience preferred.
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:
Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests:
Time off around Christmas cannot be approved.
Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details:
Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents.
The Children's Hospital includes a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for infants and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for children younger than 18.
Respiratory therapy covers the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics.
The complex congenital heart program accepts patients with all types of congenital cardiac defects, including transplants and ECMO.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Every other weekend.
Every other holiday.
Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.
The unit uses a self-scheduling model; the manager will explain it during the call. Desired schedules are not guaranteed, but the unit will do its best to accommodate them.

Floating Requirements:
The RT will be required to work in all units of the Children's Hospital.
