Unit Details:
Precepting may be required during this assignment.
Specialties include GI, oncology, dental, ENT, orthopedic, urology, general surgery, craniofacial/plastics, neuro, and eye procedures.
Trauma volume was high in summer 2025.
Highest surgical volume is currently from 5p-7p.
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 40 per week, with hours not guaranteed during orientation week and when the unit is closed for holidays.
Orientation schedule is 2 weeks of Monday-Friday, 0650-1520.
On-call: minimum of 1 weekday per week and every 3rd to 4th weekend (Friday end of shift-Monday 0700), with a 30-minute response time.
In-house on-call coverage may be required if a full-time team member calls out sick or is on PTO; the traveler must be prepared to stay overnight at the hospital if requested.
Rotate every other weekend as needed.
Holiday coverage as needed may include in-house coverage, on-call (beeper) coverage, or working any shift as needed.
Floating Requirements:
Primary service and call will be CVOR, with support for other specialties as needed.
