Nearly four years ago, Trusted set out to develop the technology, tools, and community to fundamentally change the way nurses work and manage their careers to help everyone everywhere get care. With the help of investors along the way aligned with Trusted’s mission and vision, we have since been connecting nurses to travel and contract opportunities with unparalleled transparency, ease, and control through our technology and matching platform.

Throughout that time, we’ve also worked to develop the tools and resources that nurses need to manage and accelerate their careers, whether it’s through salary insights, credentials management, continuing education, mental health support, and an engaged nurse community. This work has become ever more important and necessary, as the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the healthcare staffing crisis-- the growing gap between the number of healthcare professionals and the need for them -- and has exacerbated burnout, retirement, and an insufficient number of nurses entering the profession.

We’re proud to announce the next phase of Trusted’s growth, with $149M in funding and the launch of Works, a comprehensive staffing platform to accelerate our mission of helping everyone everywhere get care. This will enable us to continue our focus on modernizing the workforce for healthcare professionals while extending our impact, and technology, to hospitals by helping them meet one of the biggest challenges we all know so well and experience too often: ensuring that every shift gets filled. To read more about this announcement, read our press coverage in the Wall Street Journal.

Works does this by empowering hospitals to create their own on-demand workforce by uniting internal (staff) and external (contract) professionals into a single operating system, creating one source to fill all of their fluctuating staffing needs related to seasonality, turnover, sick calls, and acuity changes. This ultimately enables frontline managers to shift their focus from worrying about staffing to supporting their staff - and ultimately patients - while giving nurses more flexibility in how and when they work.

The launch of Works extends the work Trusted’s doing to give nurses increased control over their job search and careers by helping hospitals hire them and work more dynamically.

To learn more about how Trusted has been able to help Mercy, a top healthcare system in the U.S., increase fill rates by 12% and reduce nursing labor costs by $2M within six months, read the case study.
