Required Skills/Experience: Required chemotherapy skills/experience: administration of chemotherapy, body fluid handling post chemotherapy, continuous infusion of chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, management/disposal of cytotoxic spills, monitoring chemotherapy, oral administration of chemotherapy, recognize/communicate abnormal lab values. Required IV therapy/infusion skills/experience: accessing ports, administration of coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, blood/blood product administration, care and management of ports, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, starting IVs. Mixed general floor with oncology and hospice as the primary specialty. IV Therapy/ Infusions, Accessing/Managing Ports, Administration of blood & blood products, Administration of coagulation factors, Antifungals, Antivirals, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, PICC line care, Starting and maintaining IVs, Biotherapy, Chemotherapy, Administration of chemotherapy, Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, Management/disposal cytotoxic spills, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Oral Administration of chemotherapy, Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values, Symptom management, Psychosocial Care, Work Settings, Care of Patient With
Required Credentials: RQI cards are not accepted for required certifications.
Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Any permanent or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler. Non-holiday RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; anything more requires facility approval. Block schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
Shift & Scheduling: 4x12 or 3x12 day shifts, Every other weekend.
Floating Requirements: Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Active Immunotherapy Specific/Non Specific, Administration of Interferons, Administration of Interleukins, Recognize/manage side effects, Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy, Hospice care, Patient/Family education and support, Withholding/withdrawing treatment, Inpatient oncology, Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Previous Charge Experience, Teaching Hospital Experience, Community Hospital Experience, LTAC Experience
