    Additional Details:

    Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 1 year of charge nurse experience required.

    Preferred Skills/Experience: Oncology experience preferred, not required.

    Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding. Open-book skills exam on Friday during orientation; resources are provided, and a 90% passing score is required.

    Preferred Credentials: Chemotherapy certification preferred.

    Special Requests: An interview may not be available prior to offer. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Resume: Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

    Unit Details: Mixed PCU/Oncology/Med-Surg unit with adult patients; common diagnoses include oncology and trauma.

    Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Self-scheduling.

    Floating Requirements: Float to Med-Surg and PCU units at the same level of care.

    Previous Employment Requirements: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity.

    Transitional Care Travel Nurse Job Responsibilities and Salary

    The job responsibilities of a Transitional Care nurse are to provide skilled nursing care. This includes maintaining ventilators, administering respiratory treatments, and administering medications such as IV fluids and IV antibiotics. TCU nurses also provide wound care and education to patients and families. Both Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses can work in Transitional Care settings. As people recover from extensive illnesses, TCU nurses are in high demand. The average annual salary in the United States for a Transitional Care nurse is around $80,000. Salaries may be higher if the nurse has relevant certifications or additional years of experience.
