ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians is aware of what location they'll be reporting to.
Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
Unit: SURGERY (Main/West Campus)
of cases per day: 20-30
Common Cases: Total joints, general surg, spine, uro, CV for Open Heart team
Required Skills/Experience:
- Skillset to work OR and CVOR required
- Scrubbing required - RN's: no
Shift & Scheduling:
- Shifts & Scheduling: Monday through Friday with call
- Weeknight/Call Requirement: Gen OR 4-5 nights/ CVOR 5-10 weeknights per 6 weeks CVOR call up to 50% of the time.
- Weekend/Call Requirement: Gen OR 5- 12 hour shifts/CV 2 weekends per 6 wk. Up to 50% of the time.
- Holiday/Call Requirement: 2-3 12 hour shifts per year
- Is there a mandatory call/standby requirement?: Call divided up equally with staff in same role. Travelers will take call after 1-2 weeks there.
- What is call response time?: 30 minutes
Floating Requirements:
- May be floated to other departments to assist with delivering food trays, sitting with patients, etc. It is very rare for a traveler to float. Will not be floated to other procedural areas such as Pre op/ PACU.
