Required Skills/Experience:
2 years of continuous MICU experience required.
Must be able to read telemetry strips.
Unit Details:
Patient population includes adults with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day.
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 hours.
Every other weekend.
This role is a rotating shift.
Floating Requirements:
Floating is mostly to Medical/Surgical units.
When floated to other Medical/Surgical areas, the patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5.
