    Additional Information

MultiCare includes the expected start date they prefer on their job postings. Please keep this in mind when listing your start date availability! If you can start on the day they are requesting, you are more likely to be selected for an interview or offer.

Please expect someone with a 501 (Arkansas) area code or from the facility to reach out to interview you for this position!

    Required Skills/Experience:
L&D RN candidates require 2 years of experience with previous travel experience.
High-acuity experience in labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients is required; L&D RNs must be able to triage OB patients, circulate in the OR, perform cervical checks, interpret fetal monitoring strips, and serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:
    5+ years of experience preferred.

    Required Credentials:
If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

    Special Requests:
Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will not be considered.
RTO requests must be submitted before contract approval.
Discuss incidental days off (24-48 hr) with the CANM or manager.
Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed; the assignment will be used to fill gaps in the schedule.
You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.

    Unit Details:
High-acuity cases include hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections (33% C-section rate), preterm labor, insulin drips (rarely), vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, robust antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage.
After vaginal births and C-sections, the RN transitions and fully recovers both the mother and baby. A second set of hands may attend the birth and assign APGARs, but availability to help care for the baby afterward is not guaranteed.
Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active laboring, and 1:2-3 for antepartum, dependent on acuity.
RNs are ultimately responsible for phlebotomy.
Equipment and systems include Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda warmers, and Covidien SCDs.

    Shift & Scheduling:
RN shift windows are 0700-1930 and 1900-0730.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend but may vary based on need.
    No mandatory call requirements.
Additional open shifts may be picked up as needs arise.
Holiday coverage is expected and will be fair and equitable.
Schedules are made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks before the schedule begins.
Orientation is during day shifts even for night positions.

    Floating Requirements:
Floating includes antepartum within L&D, postpartum on the 4th floor occasionally, and additional assignments within scope and experience.

Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.

To help match you with the right jobs, we use AI tools (our own and some from outside partners) to review your application and see how your background lines up with what each role needs. By applying, you agree to let us use your application and personal data for this.
