Preferred Skills/Experience: PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring skills preferred. IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience preferred.
Special Requests: Any special scheduling requests must be made with manager upon arrival at facility.
Unit Details: Patient ratios: 1:2, 1:1 for certain device patients. Free-floating charge nurse assists staff; unit secretary and administrative care tech support Monday-Friday 0730-1530; student nurse externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts. Uses Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps. Immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, CentriMag, and HM3 LVADs; central line insertion, Swan insertion, and intubations performed on unit. High-volume advanced cardiac surgeries with 5 full-time surgeons; specializes in post-operative cardiac surgery care and devices. Intensivist assigned to unit 24/7.
Shift & Scheduling: 2 weekends per month. 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) and 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Floating Requirements: C/L employees float as needed, typically to other ICUs but can include other floors.
