    Additional Information

    Required Skills/Experience:
Must be experienced in both the ED and Med/Surg Unit.
Previous travel experience is required; one travel assignment suffices.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:
    Charge experience is highly preferred.

    Special Requests:
Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
Reliable transportation is required; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended because public transportation is not accessible in this area.
Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November–April.

    Unit Details:
Patient population ranges from newborn to geriatric.
Common procedures include ESI triage, IV insertion, drips/infusions, EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and ambulance transports.
Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Philips monitors, and a Ranger blood warmer.
    Respiratory support is available 24/7.
STEMI, stroke, and trauma patients are transported to a higher level of care and may require an RN for transport.
Pediatric patients needing a higher level of care are usually transported.
The ED does not have interventional radiology or a cath lab.
Telemedicine and Telestroke consultations are available through UVMMC.
The unit uses Pyxis as its medication system.

    Shift & Scheduling:
    Scheduling is Monday through Sunday.
Schedules require a minimum of every other weekend and may be adjusted to meet unit and patient-care needs.
Holiday schedule flexibility is required; travelers must work 2 of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.

    Floating Requirements:
This pilot program includes work in both the ED and Med/Surg Unit. The RN must be able to work in the ED with a full ED assignment and float to Med/Surg Tele to take a Med/Surg patient assignment with a 1:5 ratio; the RN will work in either unit as needed.

    Details:

Travel RN Job Salary & Responsibilities

Your travel RN salary is based on your specialty, experience, and where you secure your assignment. Registered Nurse job descriptions focus on technical knowledge and supervisory skills; attention to detail; and communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in critical situations. But, an RN’s responsibilities also require a combination of compassion, patience, and resilience.

This isn’t news to you. You came to Trusted because you’ve tried RN staffing agencies without the personal support you need. This doesn’t surprise us, either. We’re a team of Trusted nurses who’ve been in your shoes (those comfy, non-slip shoes). We’ll help advance your career on your terms.
