Required Skills/Experience: Recent or active chemotherapy administration skills; vascular access skills with peripheral IVs, port access, and Hickman/PICC maintenance; strong pharmacologic knowledge; strong ability to manage hypersensitivity reactions; strong skills in lab evaluations and their relationship to oncology treatments.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Unit Details: Outpatient infusion/ambulatory treatment center; tries to limit to 4 active infusions at a time. Oncology patients with long, complicated cases including Cisplatin, FOLFOX, and FOLFIRI; frequent management of hypersensitivity reactions. Also treats patients needing Zometa/Reclast/zoledronic acid, hydration, blood transfusions, various injections, iron, albumin, Prolia injections, rabies series injections, and long- and short-term antibiotics. Titrates IVIG, rituximab, Remicade, IV Darzalex, Ocrevus, and blood transfusions. Most patients are ambulatory and independent with ADLs. Basic oxygen equipment.
Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling; travelers are first to be adjusted if needed. One weekend day per 4 week schedule. No call or standby requirement.
Floating Requirements: First to float to inpatient units to provide inpatient chemotherapy.
