References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
For MD Locations – You must have compact license or MD license.
Previous Employment Requirements: Nurses with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler.
Required Skills/Experience: IV therapy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Respiratory/Thoracic, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Genitourinary/Renal, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Medications, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Neurological, CVA/Acute Stroke management, Gastrointestinal, Professional Topics and Skills, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Cardiovascular, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols
Preferred Skills/Experience: Accessing/Managing Ports, CVVHD/CRRT, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, GI surgery, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
Special Requests: Holiday rotation as needed. No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
Shift & Scheduling: 36 hours or 48 hours. Every other weekend required. 6 Weekend Shifts per contract
Floating Requirements: Float to Med/Surg, Tele, and IMC required as needed
