Required Skills/Experience:
2yrs. of continuous MICU experience required.
2+ years of continuous work experience in one location, preferably a MICU.
Telemetry competency required; must be able to read tele strips.
Required Credentials:
Contingent/temp licensure is not accepted.
Unit Details:
Adult patient population includes substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day.
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48hrs.
Every other weekend (EOW).
Night shift does not rotate.
Floating Requirements:
Floats mostly to Medical/Surgical units, with up to 4 or 5 patients.
RN-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas.
