Additional Information
Unit Details:
- Patient ratios are 1:5 or 1:6; 1:7 only when surging to decompress the ER, not usually.
- Shared unit secretary and 1-1.5 CNAs depending on volume.
- Uses vital signs monitor, Remote Telemonitoring, IMobile, bladder scanner, vein finder, Dopplers, SCDs, Alaris pumps, wound vacs, and On Q Pump.
- Procedures performed on unit: IV starts, Foley insertion, dressing changes, and NG tube insertions.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Weekend commitments required.
- Schedules are as flexible as possible.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to other medical units; if floated to PCU, assignment is modified with no drips.
