Additional Details:
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have at least 2 years of inpatient Hemodialysis experience in Level 1 - Trauma or similar size hospital.
- Must have experience with adults and peds.
- Must know how to handle patients on cardiac, heparin, pain, and insulin drips; ICU patients may be ventilated and on ECMO.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
- CRRT-Nxstage preferred.
- Teaching Hospital Experience.
- Community Hospital Experience.
- LTAC Experience.
Required Credentials:
- Telemetry test required prior to start.
Unit Details:
- Provides intermittent dialysis and support services for continuous renal replacement therapy.
- Cares for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with ESRD and AKI, including transplant and trauma patients needing dialysis.
- Bedside hemodialysis treatments for one-on-one intensive or intermediate level of care.
- Urgent-start PD, temporary dialysis catheter line placement, PD Baxter machines, and IHD Fresenius machines.
- Patient ratios: 1:2 days, 1:1 nights, 1:2 weekends.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- Holidays if needed.
- On-call: none.
Floating Requirements:
- Provide bedside hemodialysis throughout University Hospital, American Family Children's Hospital, and East Madison Hospital; float to EMH.
