Required Skills/Experience:
- Triage experience required.
- Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.
Unit Details:
- Common diagnoses/treatments include asthma, DKA, neonates with fever, and sickle cell disease.
- Special procedures and clinical care include moderate sedations, breathing treatments, chest tube set-up/care, CPAP/BiPap, home vents, high frequency vents, procedure sedation, RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs, trach care, vents, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion / defribillation, cooling / warming blanket, CVP, 12 Lead EKG Interpretation, rapid transfusions, drains, triple lumen catheter care, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access/care, PICC/central lines, PCA pumps, and feeding tubes.
- Patient populations and care areas include burns, cardiac, medical, neuro, PICU, surgical, transplant, trauma, general medical-surgical, hematology/oncology, and ortho.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 12-hour mid shifts: 11-23 and 15-03, but not in the same week.
- Weekends and rotating holidays required.
