Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2 years Phase I/Phase II PACU experience.
- First-time travelers considered only with extensive PACU experience.
- PACU experience with the listed patient types; must be able to read/interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac gtts, and provide discharge instructions. Will work Phase I and Phase II recovery.
- Art lines, TR bands, chest tubes, and CBI required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience recovering post-cath, bronchs, and IR patients highly preferred.
Required Credentials:
- CPAN accepted in lieu of CAPA.
Special Requests:
- Candidates previously employed by Aurora BayCare PACU will not be accepted.
Unit Details:
- Inpatient, outpatient, and observation patients; pediatric and adult.
- Cases include general, plastics, urology, GI, bariatrics, GYN, minor vascular, neurosurgery (spine, cranies), robotics, ophthalmology, ortho, cardiothoracic (thoracotomies/pericardial windows; no open hearts), ENT (sinus, PE tubes, T/As), endovascular, fistulas, bronchs, post-cath, and post-IR/Neuro IR.
- May occasionally care for an intubated patient or assist with intubation in PACU.
- Patient ratios: Pre-op 1:3; Phase I 1:2; Phase II 1:3.
- Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis.
- Bedside and nursing station telemetry; no tele tech.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Set schedule, Monday-Friday.
- No weekend rotation. No call. Not allowed to pick up weekends.
- No holiday requirement.
- No more than 4 days of RTO will be approved.
Floating Requirements:
- Travelers float regularly between Phase I and Phase II recovery across Main and East PACU.
