Required Skills/Experience: Stepdown/PCU experience. Will not accept OR candidates. Clinicians should have strong Trauma Level 1 experience and/or be willing to work with difficult cases.
Preferred Skills/Experience: ENT and/or transplant experience preferred. Preceptor and charge experience preferred.
Required Credentials: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Preferred Credentials: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program.
Unit Details: OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is Oklahoma’s only Level I Trauma Center. This is a Med-Surg unit. 4W Surgical Transplant is a mixed stepdown and acute care floor caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients being evaluated during their inpatient stay. Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery. This is not a PACU position. The unit is a mix of Med-Surg and Stepdown. Any nurse on this floor will either work Med-Surg or Stepdown depending on the availability of nurses. If short and ICU nurses are floated down, they will work the Stepdown patients based on acuity and skill set.
Floating Requirements: Travelers will be first to float.
