Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience: Experienced and comfortable functioning independently with vascular access procedures in a hospital setting. Minimum of 2 years of ICU or ER experience. Midline and PICC placement experience required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Infusion experience preferred.
Preferred Credentials: PICC certification preferred.
Unit Details: Assesses the patient's need for placement of a vascular access device and determines the appropriate type of device to place, location to place the device, and safety of line placement. Acts as an expert in vascular access ultrasound-guided line placement to include peripheral lines, midline catheters, and peripherally inserted central catheters in the clinic setting. Assists with troubleshooting vascular access issues and provides expert guidance to team members with the management of these devices. Will be placing mid and PICC lines using ultrasound.
Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri schedule. Weekend on-call rotation. On-call: Saturday and Sunday coverage for Suburban campus only. Holidays as needed for on-call. Call-back response time: 30 mins.
Floating Requirements: Rotate between Bayview and Suburban campuses.
