You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Skills/Experience:
Experience with CVICU required.
Post-op heart experience required.
Candidates with post-op heart experience and CVICU work history who do not have 2 years of experience may be screened.
First-time travelers are accepted with 3+ years of experience.
First-time travelers are accepted with PICU experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Special Requests:
All time off requests must be outlined at the time of submission.
Parking costs $15 Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Shift & Scheduling:
Start dates are Tuesdays.
Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day).
Weekend coverage is required.
No call.
Unit Details:
Cares for critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and young adult patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, oncologic, and trauma diagnoses, including patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
Bedside procedures include central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, chest exploration, and other emergent operative procedures for patients unable to transport to the OR.
Equipment includes Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Arctic Sun targeted temperature management, and Baxter Prismaflex machines.
Floating Requirements:
Floating is within the hospital to NICU and pediatric units; floating to sister hospitals is not required.
