Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience in Cardiac, Thoracic, or Vascular surgery. Experience with peripheral artery bypass, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomies, fistula creation, amputations, and endovascular surgery (EVAR, TCAR, TAG) is required. Knowledge of open vascular and endovascular is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Sedation experience is preferred. Thoracic surgery experience is helpful. Vascular experience is preferred; general surgery background may be accepted, as some hospitals place vascular within general OR.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previous permanent employees must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Travel teams must be submitted together. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
Unit Details: RN role includes circulating and providing sedation. Common cases include cardiac surgery cases such as CABG, valve repair/replacement (open and robotic), ECMO, and transplant; thoracic surgery cases including robotic, endoscopic, and open procedures such as lung resection, VATS, esophagostomy (open and robotic), POEM, hiatal hernia repair, mediport, EGD, and GI and respiratory stents; and vascular surgery including diagnostic angiography and percutaneous interventions, surgical endarterectomy, dialysis access management, AAA repair (open and endovascular), visceral arterial repair/intervention, and amputation. Covers thoracic cases as well.
Shift & Scheduling: On-call 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month. Holiday call coverage as needed. 30 min call response time.
Floating Requirements: May need to float within other services of HVI.
