    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Must be able to read strips.

    Unit Details:

    • Typical caseload: 1:1, 4-20 cases/day.
    • Common diagnoses/types of patients: STEMI, NSTEMI, HF, congenital, TAVR, MitraClip, peripheral.
    • Cath lab is separate from IR and EP.
    • Titrates drips occasionally.
    • Uses GE and Philips monitors and McKesson.
    • Call teams are 4-person; regular cases are 3-person (1 RN and 2 RTR).
    • Charge nurse serves as a resource and coordinates the day and fields calls; when on call, the RN acts as charge nurse.

    Shift & Scheduling:

    • May work over to complete emergent cases.
    • 6-8 call shifts/month, including primary and backup call.
    • Weekend call every 6-7 full weekends, starts Friday at 5:30pm and ends 0600 am on Monday morning.
    • Additional weekend backup call shifts occur about once/month; these are 24-hour shifts, and the RN will be the circulator for emergent cases.
    • Easter backup call shift.

    Floating Requirements:

    • Does not routinely float, but may share to IR if experienced in IR.
