• Teaching hospital experience.

Unit Details:

• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Conditions/cases include coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, myocarditis, aortic stenosis, mitral valve prolapse, tricuspid valve regurgitation, heart failure, pulmonary failure, aortic aneurysm repair, and cardiac tumor.
• Procedures include CABG, valve replacement/repair, ECMO insertion/decannulation, left atrial appendage clipping, ascending aortic aneurysm repair/replacement with graft, and Impella 5.5 insertion/removal.
• Staffing ratios: days 3, nights 2, weekends 2.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Mon-Fri.
• Call split amongst CV staff, approx 14 per month, including weekend call.
• Every other weekend.

Floating Requirements:

• Floating required to Vascular and General.
