Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience recovering fresh hearts directly from the OR within the past 6 months.
- General medical and surgical ICU experience in addition to CVICU experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Manual hemodynamic experience preferred.
Required Credentials:
- Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required during onboarding.
Special Requests:
- Interview may not be available prior to offer.
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
- At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- Time off requests must be submitted prior to the contract; requests made after the assignment starts require manager approval.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but may be allowed if it works with the schedule.
Unit Details:
- Procedures and devices include TAVR, Impella, IABP, lumbar drains, and Swanz.
- Patient population includes STEMI, AAA, hypothermia, sepsis, and general Med-Surg ICU patients, with greater focus on cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patients.
- No CRRT.
- Telemetry uses Philips central monitors at the nurse station and hard-wired monitors in each room.
- Vents include Draeger, Hamilton G5, Galileo, and LVT transport vent.
- High-acuity, fast-paced unit; assignments can change at any time during the shift.
- No techs, but patient care support staff and a unit clerk/secretary assist with room setup, phones, and call lights.
- Intensivist in house 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, then on-call after hours. RT and pharmacy available 24/7. Omnicell in use.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend; may occasionally be more based on unit needs.
- Holidays: 2 of 3 major winter holidays; other holidays as needed within the permanent staff rotation.
- This unit does not do self-scheduling.
Floating Requirements:
- Float to other ICUs or to ER for inpatient ICU holds.
- First to float.
