Required Skills/Experience:
Previous travel experience is required; 1 travel assignment suffices.

Charge experience preferred.

Public transportation is not accessible in this area; reliable transportation is required, and a personal or rental vehicle are strongly recommended.
Vehicles should be equipped with all season or snow tires during the months of November-April.

Unit Details:
Emergency Department caring for newborn to geriatric patients.
Uses Pyxis, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and a Ranger blood warmer.
Unit work includes ESI triage, IV insertion, drips/infusions, performing EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and ambulance transports.
STEMI, stroke, and trauma patients are transported to a higher level of care and may require an RN for transport.
Pediatric patients needing a higher level of care are usually transported.
Respiratory and anesthesia support are available 24/7.
General surgery services are available; no interventional radiology or cath lab.
Uses telemedicine and telestroke consultations through UVMMC.

Shift & Scheduling:
Schedule may include Monday-Sunday coverage.
Every other weekend minimum; schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the unit and patient care.
Holiday requirements apply; must be flexible with schedule.
Travelers must work 2 out of the 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Years Day.

Floating Requirements:
Ability to float to MS is preferred.
