Special Requests:
- At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Unit Details:
- Uses Epic.
- Level 2 trauma; STEMI and stroke receiving.
- Travelers work in all areas, including triage if comfortable.
- ER holds are managed in the ER, and travelers will be required to take holds.
- Separate locked psych/seclusion area with 10 video-monitored rooms.
- Nurse-patient ratios are generally 1:4 and can flex to 1:6 in psych and fast track, with 2 nurses in fast track.
- Common cases include chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, back pain, cough, and alcohol detox. Pediatrics make up about 10% of cases.
- All critical drips managed.
- Nurses read their own strips.
- Nurses draw labs when starting IVs.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend for nights (Fri-Sat); rotating holidays.
