Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Credentials: Pass/fail open-book skills exam during orientation on Wednesday; must score 90% to pass. You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. Blocked scheduling is generally not approved unless it is weekends only. Travel pairs requesting the same schedule or sharing a car are not accepted. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details: Adult ICU patient population includes trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation. Respiratory support ranges from nasal cannula to vent. RNs are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips; monitor brand is GE with tele tech oversight of monitors as well.
Shift & Scheduling: Minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract time frame. Every other weekend. If placed on call and called back in, arrival is required within 30 minutes.
Floating Requirements: Typically PCU, occasionally MedSurg — will take the same ratio of patients typically assigned on these units (1:4 or 1:5).
