References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Credentials:
- You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
- Pass/fail open-book skills exam during orientation on Wednesday; must score 90% to pass.
Special Requests:
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
- Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
- Will not approve block scheduling unless it's weekends only.
- Will not take travel pairs who want the same schedule or share a car.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details:
- Adult ICU patient population includes trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.
- RNs titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips.
- Cares for patients on respiratory support ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator.
- RNs are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips; GE monitors with tele tech oversight.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Flexible contract hours: 48 per week.
- Travelers are added into the schedule; self-scheduling is for core staff.
- Weekends are Saturday and Sunday.
- Every other weekend.
- Minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract timeframe.
- If placed on call and called back in, you must arrive within 30 minutes.
Floating Requirements:
- Typically floats to PCU and occasionally MedSurg; will typically take the same ratio of patients assigned on those units (1:4 or 1:5).
