You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.
Requested time off will not be accepted between 8/5/26-8/20/26.
Required skills/experience: Comfortability working a 48hr/week contract. Experience with: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, neuro and trauma. Diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population. Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.
Preferred skills/experience: 2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred. If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval. Cardiac experience is preferred. CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers. Impella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferred.
Required credentials: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Shift & schedule requirements: Weekend rotation: Try for every other weekend, this is not guaranteed though. Holiday Expectations: No RTO during holidays.
Floating requirements: Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including Medsurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio. Confirm traveler comfortability during interview.
Special request requirements: Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler. Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff.
Unit and facility details: MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU – mixed unit- All one ICU divided into pods- would not float into CVICU side unless experienced in that unit/specialty
