Required Skills/Experience:
- Must read and interpret telemetry strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Ability to pull pacer wires preferred; if unable, orientation will be provided.
Unit Details:
- Cardiac stepdown unit. 4A is more cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery; 4B is for smaller procedures, drips, and CHF patients.
- Uses Meditech and Phillips telemetry.
- Drips include Cardizem (titrated), amiodarone, dobutamine, renal-dose dopamine, Lasix, Bumex, heparin, Primacor, and Vaprosol.
- Respiratory support includes BiPAP, CPAP during sleep, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen; no full vents.
- Common diagnoses/procedures include POD #1 CABG, cardiovascular surgery including fem-pops, arteriograms, CEA, thoracotomy, VATS, EVARs, AAA repairs, carotid endarterectomies, stents, pacemakers, ablations, AICD, CHF, afib with RVR, CABG with pacer wires, adenosine cardioversions, and frequent chest tubes.
- Fast room turnover; average census is 32-38 patients, with 12-16 discharges/admissions in one shift on busy days.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- Must be flexible to work holidays and days around holidays.
Floating Requirements:
- May float to ICU but would only take stepdown patients unless ICU experience is noted on the contract as ICU OK to float.
- If unable to take ICU-level patients, will be asked to task in the ICU.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
