References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: Required work setting experience: Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry - on the unit monitoring, use of rapid response teams. Cardiovascular skills/experience: Post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, TR band. Gastrointestinal skills/experience: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/renal skills/experience: Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure. IV therapy/phlebotomy skills/experience: Accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs. Medication skills/experience: Heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips - no titration, manage vasoactive drips - no titration, PCA, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips. Neurological/psychiatric case experience: Craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury. Orthopedics case experience: Ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements. Plastic surgery case experience: Skin grafts, surgical drains. Respiratory skills/experience: Care of ventilated patient, chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management. Professional topics and skills: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac. Must be able to take tracheostomies with ventilators.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience preferred.
Special Requests: Open to accommodating block schedule? Discuss with manager. RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Unit Details: Adult patient population. Very fast-paced unit with a high amount of patient throughput. Nurses are typically at a 1:4 patient ratio with a free charge. The charge nurse may take up to 4 patients if needed, but this does not happen often. 3E takes patients of all diagnoses and is the only dedicated IMC unit in the hospital, so it takes all patient types.
Shift & Scheduling: 3x12 or 4x12 day shifts; able to accommodate 4x12s if candidate prefers. No call. Every other weekend.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
