Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years of experience with cervical exams and infant delivery (deliveries will occasionally need the assistance of RNs while the on-call physician reports).
- Postpartum couplet care experience required.
- Nursery experience in a level 2 nursery or higher acuity for SCN positions.
- Charge-level experience required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Fetal monitoring, stabilization of a neonate, troubleshooting high-acuity situations, and strong triage assessment skills preferred.
Preferred Credentials:
- BSN preferred.
Unit Details:
- Labor & Delivery, Level 2 special care nursery, and postpartum setting caring for adult and newborn patients.
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards.
- Common diagnoses/treatments include labor, GDM, hypertension, IUGR, macrosomia, and drug use in pregnancy.
- Uses fetal monitors, ISTAT, Freestyle, and Fetalink.
- Community hospital setting with minimal supervision; not a teaching hospital and no resident physicians.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Weekend requirements vary.
- No call.
