Additional Details:
Any special scheduling requests must be made with Manager upon arrival at facility.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 1 or more travel contracts completed preferred.
Unit Details:
- Patient ratios: 1:1-2 laboring, 1:2-3 AP, 1:1 c/s and PACU.
- OB tech always in staffing for scrubbing c/s and assisting with vaginal deliveries, 1 dedicated charge nurse to assist with triage and transport (baby nurse), 1 unit secretary 0700-2300.
- Procedures performed on unit: cervical exams, IUPC and FSE placement, vaginal deliveries, IV starts with lab draws, circulating cesarean sections, recovering cesarean sections (usually with spinal anesthesia but general anesthesia occasionally).
- Community hospital with a monthly birth volume of 200+ deliveries.
- Collaborates with Diana Health laborist program with 24-hour MD and CNM coverage; dedicated anesthesia providers available 24 hours a day.
- Offers nitrous oxide therapy for pain management alongside epidural analgesia.
- Labor and delivery and mother-baby units have been recently renovated, including six new mother-baby rooms.
- Uses Jada, fetal pillow, and Cook's catheters.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 3 shifts per week; if working during the winter holidays, must work 1-2 days or evenings.
Floating Requirements:
- Possible to float to Mother Baby, but not frequently. Will not float to any other department.
