Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have 1 year of L&D experience and be trained in LDRP.
- Must be able to triage and function as the baby catcher/transition nurse.
Special Requests:
- Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
- Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
Unit Details:
- Patient population includes pregnant women, newborns, and gyn surgical patients.
- Does not require circulating C-sections or managing post op GYN patients.
- Titrates Pitocin drips.
- Uses OBIX; respiratory equipment includes Bubble CPAP, CPAP, and NC.
- OBs are not in house and have a 20 minute response time; anesthesia is in house regular business hours and on-call after hours, with a 20 min response time.
- RT may not always be available for deliveries; the peds on call can attend deliveries.
- Charge nurse is one of two nurses on shift.
- No nurse aides or surgical techs on the unit.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Some self-scheduling but may be moved for unit needs.
- Half of all weekends (F,S,S).
- Half of winter holidays.
- No call.
Floating Requirements:
- First to float helping hands to Med-Surg (rare).
