Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Special Requests Self-scheduling and blocked schedules are allowed as long as unit needs are met.
Unit Details 1W: mainly post-surgical and orthopedic patients. 2E: mainly MedSurg patients, including pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life, and low-volume inpatient chemo. Tele patients are monitored remotely by the monitor tech on the 3rd floor; there are no monitors on this unit. Heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures; no cardiac gtts. BiPAP, Cpap, and High Flow, all managed per RT. Current COVID patients may be housed on one hallway classified as "dirty," while "clean" patients are housed on a different hallway. Could be assigned to both clean and dirty patients at the same time; must be comfortable with this.
Shift & Scheduling Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are weekend shifts. Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule. Most staff group their Friday with their weekend shifts, working Fri/Sat/Sun. Work into the permanent staff holiday rotation.
Floating Requirements Floating only to other MedSurg units.
