    Additional Details:

    Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

    You must take a 1 year break between staff and travel for ALL Kaiser facilities.

    Required Skills/Experience: 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience

    Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring.

    Demonstrated IV Skills and ability to perform lab draws.

    Demonstrated knowledge of high risk medication administration (Magnesium/Oxytocin/Insulin).

    Demonstrated ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing.

    Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing.

    Demonstrated knowledge of IStat.

    Demonstrated ability to perform Adult Cardiac monitoring.

    Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring.

    Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborn.

    Demonstrated knowledge of newborn medication including ability to perform IV administration and maintenance.

    Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights.

    Demonstrated knowledge of radiant warmers.

    Demonstrated knowledge to support gyn teaching & post-operative bladder training.

    Demonstrated knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching.

    Preferred Skills/Experience: Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience.

    Minimum three (3) years of postpartum experience.

    Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience.

    Required Credentials: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

    Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program

    Preferred Credentials: Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.

    Mother Baby Travel Nurse Job Responsibilities and Salary

    Mother Baby nurses are Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses or Registered Nurses and are responsible for weighing, cleaning, and dressing the baby. The Mother Baby nurse may work with a lactation consultant to ensure the baby is properly nursing. If the mother had a cesarean section, the Mother Baby nurse will assess and monitor the incision for healing.  Postpartum nurses provide emotional support to the mother and detect and respond to any emergencies that may occur.
