Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Work with families during stressful hospitalizations.
- Narrate care and inform parents.
- Report changes in condition to physicians.
- IV placement, neonatal abstinence scoring, hypoglycemia management, and emergency/code response.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Level 3 NICU experience preferred.
Unit Details:
- Level 3 NICU.
- Patient ratios: feeder/grower 1:3; higher acuity 1:2.
- CNA/secretary support available 0600-0000; dedicated NICU RT available 0600-0000; clinical nurse supervisor/charge RN support.
- Equipment includes vents, CR monitors, Vapotherm, CPAP, and IV equipment.
- Uses paper flow sheets.
- Performs neonatal-specific care, ROP exams, and assists MDs with bedside procedures including intubation, central line placement, and chest tube placement.
- Works alongside 2 board-certified neonatologists and an NNP team.
- NIC View remote live stream cameras are available for family use.
Shift & Scheduling:
- On-call: 1 call shift per pay period.
- Every other weekend.
