Additional Details:
RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.
You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2 years PACU in Level I trauma required; ICU/critical care required.
- High-acuity inpatient and Phase I PACU experience required.
- Experience with drains, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, vasoactive drips, ICP monitoring, mechanical ventilation, ventilated patients, and recovery from general anesthesia required.
- ICU/critical care experience must be reflected in work history.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.
- Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Special Requests:
- No medical marijuana cards accepted.
Unit Details:
- Adult, occasional adolescent, and geriatric patient population.
- High-acuity inpatient PACU in a Level I trauma center; approximately 80% of patients are admitted after surgery/procedure.
- Recovers neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgical patients.
- Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants.
- Unit has its own PCT/transport team.
- Night shift nurses are expected to pre-op patients for first cases from 0530-0730 when there are no patients for them in the PACU.
Shift & Scheduling:
- BJC policy: Every other weekend required.
- Monday through Thursday nights.
- No weekends. No holidays. No call.
- RTO: No more than 7 days.
Floating Requirements:
- Will float within scope to PACU or Pre-Op units.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
