Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac experience preferred.
Unit Details: HVI Pre/Post unit with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery and moderate sedation recovery. Typical patients include anesthesia recoveries and sedation patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Nurse:Patient ratios: Pre-op - 1:3; Phase 1 - 1:2; Phase 2 - 1:3. Common cases include left and right heart caths; EP procedures including pacemakers, ablations, and EP studies; structural heart cases including TAVRs, LAAOs, Mitral clips, and PFO closures; vascular cases including carotid endarterectomies, carotid stents, bypasses, AAA repairs, and angiograms; thoracic cases including hiatal hernia repair, lung resections, mediastinoscopies, and EGD; and CT surgery cases including CABGs/valves and LVADs. Does not recover open sternotomy patients. ICU patients occasionally recover in PACU. RNs read strips.
Shift & Scheduling: Shifts can be a combination of three 12-hour shifts per week: 0500-1730, 0600-1830, 0700-1930, and 0800-2030; must include one 0800-2030 shift per week. On-call is required as needed for weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and hospital-recognized holidays, rotating equally through the nurse roster. Call hours are 0600-1830 with a one-hour response time.
