Required skills/experience: Must have high acuity patient experience.
Preferred skills/experience: Experience with magnesium drips and telemetry highly recommended and preferred.
Required credentials: BILH coversheet required at time of submission
Shift & schedule requirements: Every other weekend rotation. Holidays required as they are looking for seasonal coverage.
Postpartum Travel Nurse Job Responsibilities and Salary
Postpartum nurse responsibilities include checking vital signs, managing and removing urinary catheters, administering medications, and checking wounds (if a C-section was performed). These nurses will also assess the mother's lochia and the fundus. Postpartum nurses work closely with midwives and OBGYNs. These nurses provide education and support to the mother and family about their new baby. Education may include instructing on signs and symptoms of postpartum depression as well as caring for the new baby. Nurses also coordinate and introduce lactation specialists.
