Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
15+ months minimum of IMCU, PCU, or post-op cardiac experience.
Experience with Femstops, CBIs, and central lines required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with respiratory patients highly preferred.
Preceptor experience preferred.
Charge experience preferred.
Required Credentials:
Iowa licensure is required, in addition to Illinois licensure. You must apply for an Iowa license at time of offer acceptance.
Special Requests:
Any past UnityPoint Health employee, whether FTE or PRN for the UnityPoint Health float pool, cannot work travel in another market regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. If they worked travel at UnityPoint Health, rather than as an FTE or PRN employee, the separation policy does not apply.
All employment gaps over 30 days must be clearly explained.
Unit Details:
Patient types include pre/post-CABG, post-cardiac catheterization, pacemakers, TAVRs, Watchman procedures, and ablations.
Drips include amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Isuprel, milrinone, and argatroban; some drips require titration.
Specialty equipment includes chest tubes, Femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines.
May need to step in as charge RN or preceptor.
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 48 per week, or 36 per week if preferred.
Every other weekend.
Contractors are required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays—Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year—unless the unit is closed.
No call.
Floating Requirements:
Must be willing and able to float across campuses when needed or scheduled: Rock Island, Moline, Bettendorf, and Muscatine.
