Additional Information
Required Skills/Experience:
2 years of Progressive level of care nursing experience or Critical Care nursing experience is required.
Recent experience at a level 1 trauma center is required.
Primary continuous bedside monitoring (ECG, SpO2, BP, RR) is required.
Cardiology specialty experience is required.
Cardiac surgery specialty experience is required.
Continuous invasive pressure monitoring (arterial line, CVP monitoring) is required.
Temporary pacing (transvenous pacing, epicardial wire pacing) is required.
Vasopressor infusion management (phenylephrine, norepinephrine) is required.
Inotrope infusion management (milrinone, dobutamine) is required.
Chest tube management is required.
Phlebotomy is required.
Peripheral IV insertion is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
2 years of critical care experience is highly preferred; it does not have to be cardiac ICU specific.
Charge RN experience is preferred.
RN precepting experience is preferred.
Special Requests:
You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you applied for day shift, you can apply for night shift on the same unit & facility, but you cannot apply for day shift at the same unit & facility.
Unit Details:
The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is on L4WA.
Patients require a higher level of monitoring and nursing care than an acute care setting can provide but do not require intensive care.
The patient population includes cardiovascular medicine and cardiothoracic surgery patients, including patients transitioning from CVCC after critical illness, recovering from cardiovascular procedures, or requiring a higher level of care from other hospital areas.
RNs provide cardiovascular assessment and telemetry monitoring with early recognition of patient deterioration.
Shift & Scheduling:
Rotating schedule.
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
No call.
