Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Reading basic telemetry strips.
- Some experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA.
- Common diagnosis/types of patients: COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetics, telemetry, TIA, CVA, as well as general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients.
- RNs are required to interpret strips and sign at least once a shift.
- RN jobs in Med-Surg/Tele are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Cerner experience recommended as there is only one day of orientation.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Shifts are 12 hours, 7-7:30, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Schedules are made out for 4 weeks. Self-scheduling is used but is not final until the manager balances the schedule.
- Every other weekend; 2 weekends per 4-week schedule.
- No call or standby requirement.
- For Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving, clinicians are expected to work 2 days and 1 evening or 2 evenings and 1 day (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day).
Floating Requirements:
- May float to East Campus, and possibly PCU if qualified.
- First to float.
- ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established; however, this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians are aware of what location they will be reporting to.

- An interview may not be available prior to offer.
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
- Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.
- References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
- Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
