    Additional Information

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • 2 years current MS, PACU, and/or post-operative care experience in a hospital setting.
    • Telemetry strip reading experience required.
    • No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel contract within the previous 12 months.
    • Surgical care experience with general, thoracic, vascular, urology, gynecology, orthopedic, and podiatry patient types required.
    • Experience with PCAs, epidurals, chest tubes, and CBIs required.

    Special Requests:

    • Any past UPH employee, whether FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool, cannot work travel in another market if they currently work there or have worked there within the past 12 months. If they worked travel at UPH, the separation policy does not apply.

    Unit Details:

    • Cares for post-operative surgical patients.
    • Telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips, including amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix, heparin, and insulin.
    • Patient types include general, thoracic, vascular, urology, gynecology, orthopedic, and podiatry.
    • Bedside monitors in every patient room.

    Shift & Scheduling:

    • No call.
    • Every other weekend, including holiday rotation.
    • Unless the unit is closed, required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's.

    Floating Requirements:

    • May float across other like Med-Surg units, including BH and ED.
