    Additional Details:

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • No first-time travelers.

    Required Credentials:

    • If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations.

    Special Requests:

    • Must disclose any previous employment with North Valley on your resume or elsewhere in the submission for a DNU check.
    • At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.
    • Scheduling is done at the management level. Staff have predictable schedules. The facility tries to block 3 shifts for night shift when possible, but travelers are expected to stay flexible and help fill staffing gaps. The manager will work with travelers on the schedule.

    Unit Details:

    • Lower-acuity telemetry/acute care patients; higher-acuity or complex patients are transferred out.
    • Frequent swing-bed patients for wound care, rehab, or long-term antibiotics. Common diagnoses include a.fib, cellulitis, severe wounds, and falls.
    • No RRT, code, or IV team available in the facility.
    • RN titrates heparin and insulin drips.
    • Tele available; RN must read and interpret their own strips, and there are no monitor techs.
    • RN performs EKGs, breathing treatments, and Bipap. RT is in house M-F 7AM-3:30 PM with call coverage and a 30 mins response time.
    • One shift supervisor oversees both Acute Care and ER and may take a patient assignment when needed.
    • Rural facility with minimal resources; clinicians should be comfortable working independently.

    Shift & Scheduling:

    • Typically 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week period.
    • May be asked to go in the holiday rotation.
    • No call.

    Floating Requirements:

    • May be asked to float between Acute Care and the ER; permanent staff typically float to the ER first.
